Biscuits and Tomatoes

Two days of learning have already passed and I completed the pages as well! That really was easy! I just had to print out the picture, add the title and write the journaling. Done!

That really is perfect on days you don’t have that much time to do a whole page with paper, embellishments, alphas, … and I wanted to do it really simple so I can do it a bit more ‘complicated’ with my Christmas Journal in December!

I’m off for another layout – got some photos delivered last week! Have a great weekend everybody!

Jetzt sind grade mal zwei Tage “Learn something new every day” vorueber und und ich hab schon beide Eintraege fertig! Easy! Ich musste auf meine vorbereiteten Seiten ja auch nur das Photo drauf kleben, den Titel und das Journaling! Fertig!
Das ist absolut perfekt fuer Tage, an denen man sowieso keine Zeit hat fuer ein komplettes LO mit PP, Embellishments und Alphas. Ausserdem wollte ich es auch in dieser Art und Weise gestalten: Einfach! Mein Christmas Journal wird ja wieder aufwendig werden – ohne Zweifel! Aber das hat ja noch Zeit bis November!
So, bin dann mal am Arbeitstisch fuer ein weiteres LO! Habe letzte Woche einige Photos geliefert bekommen, die ich jetzt verscappen kann!

Learn Something New Every Day

Is it September again? Well, tomorrow, not today and that means Shimelle‘s annual online class ‘Learn something new every day’ is starting tomorrow and we will be looking out for things we can learn from our surroundings! Last year I just finished it half way through (well, the album, but I wrote down every lesson!) and this year I wanted it easier so I prepared an album for that.

I took an 8×8 light pink postbound album by AC, but I won’t use the full size of the pages every day. Instead of that I will use half the size: 8×4″
And to prevent the pages from tangling around in their page protector I sewed them in half! Easy, right? So I have now one full page in front (8×8) and eight page protectors sewed in half which makes 32 pages! Yes, I know, September only got 30 days, but there will be a closing page (or two) at the end.

And to be sure I finish this class I prepared all the pages with a little punched element so I just have to glue in a picture, the lesson I learned and perhaps some journaling (if needed):

And guess what: I used American Crafts Amy Tangerine and Garden Cafe! Isn’t that a great new series? I already love it, especially the acrylic stamps! You can find Amy Tangerine HERE and Garden Cafe HERE.

That’s probably the best thing with Shimelle’s classes: you don’t have to buy special paper/embellishments/alphabets… to take part in her classes. You just can start with your OWN stuff, your OWN loved paper! (Years ago I attended a layout class where we did a double sides page without pictures but all with the same paper; I never filled that page with pictures; I binned it this year; it was purple and very dark; I don’t like too much purple…)

Roll on Thursday – lets go back to school! (and it’s never too late to start with Shimelle’s classes, because you don’t have a certain time to finish or start that class/project! And every annual class just have to be purchased once and you can do it year after year and get the new PDFs of course!)

Ist es schon wiederSeptember? Naja, fast; morgen. Und das bedeutet, Shimelle‘s jährliche online class beginnt wieder und wir werden uns die Welt um uns herum genauer ansehen und von ihr lernen. Letztes Jahr hab ich mein Album nur bis zur Hälfte geschafft, aber alle Lessons, die ich gelernt habe, aufgeschrieben! Daher, um diesen Jahr auch wirklich durchzuhalten, habe ich schon mal alle Seiten vorbereitet.
Das Album an sich ist ein 8×8 großes rosanes Postbound Album von American Crafts, aber ich werde nicht die vollen 8×8 benutzen, sondern die Hälfte: 8×4″
Und um die Seiten daran zu hindern, im Page Protector umherzuwandern, hab ich sie einfach zur Hälfte durchgenäht und somit werden vier schmale Layouts Platz finden! Jede Seite hat auch schon ein Emellishment drauf und einen Papierstreifen. Dann brauch ich nur noch meine Lektion, die ich am jeweiligen Tag gelernt habe draufschreiben/kleben, das Photo dazu und je nach Lust und Laune noch ein bisschen Bling drauf – fertig! Das ist doch diesmal zu schaffen, was meint ihr?!
Für die Seiten dann hab ich natürlich einen meinen Favouriten der CHA benutzt: die neue Serien von American Crafts ‘Amy Tangerine’ klick hier und ‘Garden Cafe’ klick hier.
Und diese Serie führt mich zu dem, warum ich Shimelle’s Online Classes so liebe: Man braucht kein neues, bestimmtes Papier/Embellishments/Alphabets… zu kaufen, man kann einfach seine EIGENEN Sachen benutzen, das EIGENE Papier, das man so liebt! (Vor Jahren hab ich mal eine Layout Class gemacht, in der ein doppelseitiges LO entstanden ist; jeder Teilnehmer mit den gleichen Papieren; ich hab das LO niemals mit Leben (=Photos) gefüllt; dieses Jahr im Frühjahr hab ich es einfach so wie es war entsorgt; es war purple und recht dunkel; ich mag doch kein purple!)
Also, noch einmal Schlafen, dann isses soweit: Back to School!
(Und auch mit Shimelle’s Classes ist es niemals zu spät zu starten! Die Classes verschwinden nicht einfach nach ein paar Wochen, nein! Das Forum ist immer geöffnet und man kann auch ältere online-classes in seinem eigenen Tempo nacharbeiten! Ganz ohne Druck, herrlich, was? Die jährlichen Klassen (u.a. auch Journal Your Christmas) sind auch jedes Jahr mit neuen PDF’s erfüllt und man muss sich dafür nur einmal anmelden, danach kann man solange sie fortgeführt werden teilnehmen!)

Autumn’s coming to town!

Can you believe it? Summer is definitely over, although we had some nice weeks with mild temperatures through the day! Maja “kicked” me out of the house to do some pictures of the coloured leaves, but I didn’t find that much though. It’s definitely slower than in Norway!

I’m still behind my class schedule – but I have learnt a lot theses days. I wrote them all down and if I have time at the weekend they all will be on some LOs!

Days, Maths and Gratitudes

Tuesday was a very long day! This week I started working from 12 pm (instead of 2.30 pm) and it is very hard! In addition there was a meeting on Tuesday so I came home at about half past 7. Finally the day was over – so my lesson for that day was:

The next day – Wednesday – I helped a friend with her probability calculations and I realized that it was still easy for me to handle that!

Thursday was a day to be grateful for something – and it was definitely the coffees I had that day – made by Lisa! I don’t know why, but her coffee tastes different from the other ones (though I still grateful for EVERY cup of coffee) – so this LO is especially dedicated to LISA!

And today? What did I learn today? Well, a few things I guess, but these are the two which are still in my mind:

1. I broke my routine and stayed in my PJs and dressing gown until nearly midday. And I liked it!
2. An “old” friend from Germany contacted my on FB and we decided to meet us next week for a chat on Skype! Very happy for that!
