Hand aufs Herz. Pastel-Farben. Hm. Mag ich die wirklich? Schwierig…. Wenn man zu viel “leichtes” drauf setzt schwimmt alles davon, aber ich glaube mit der neuen Collection von Dear Lizzy by American Crafts “Neapolitan” funktionierts, oder? Zumindest mit den richtigen Fotos, die den Kontrast bieten
Und was ist noch dabei? Immer noch Banner, Flags und diese süßen Rosetten! Ja, ich bekenne mich: ich mag das! Immer noch!
Die Rosetten sind aus diesem Set Dear Lizzy – Neapolitan – Fair Ribbons – schon fix und fertig gefaltet und geklebt, also geht das auch flitt aufs Layout! Keine Klebereste an den Fingern und kein Stress, wenns nicht sofort hält! Yeah!
Und was möchtet ihr nächste Woche sehen!? Ich hab noch mehr von My Mind’s Eye, Teresa Collins und Amy Tangerine…. Eure Wahl!

Happy Weekend (nearly)!

“Alora” is coming along with a pinkish red, turquoise, yellowish green, grey shades and an off-white! These could be the colours of or next summer holiday, right?!

I only used two sheets of the new collection in this layout: Bo Bunny – Alora – Stitches as a background and Bo Bunny – Alora – Giggles for the scalloped border and the cute flowers, swirls and birdies I cut out! Done with a real fun page!

What a title! You might have recognized already that I love taking pics of flowers and plants and to use the botanical name as a title on my LO! This layout has a bit of a story.

Yesterday morning/midday I met up with Carole and Emma on FB and we chatted along while scrapping a layout! An online-crop! That really was fun (especially the chatting part) and after nearly finishing my page I got stuck with the title because I didn’t know the name of the flower I was scrapping of. But luckily Carole had gone through some books, found the plant’s name and I finished my page last night! Thanks again for that, Carole! <3

I was a bit concerned about the purple flowers, but BoBunny’s “Ambrosia” is having a more pinkish purple in their collection and it quite worked, right? Just two sheets are used here as well: Bo Bunny – Ambrosia – Roses for the swirly flowery back and Bo Bunny – Ambrosia – Stripe for the yellow border and stripy flags. On the Kraft CS I used some Mister Huey’s White Mist and some Acrylic Paint which I mixed together to get the colours from the PP and photo. Kind of.

And those nice letters?! A new one by American Crafts: Dear Lizzy – Neapolitan – Thickers – Serendipity Parakeet Foam *sigh*

Da momentan ja die ganzen neuen Serien der Winter CHA 2012 in der Scrapbook Werkstatt ankommen, sind wir als Designteam ganz schön gefordert, euch diese neuen Papiere in Aktion zu zeigen!
Heute als neues von BoBunny, die ja einige Serien veröffentlicht haben! Zwei gibts heute von mir zu sehen, natürlich auf zwei LOs mit “Alora” und “Ambrosia”

“Alora” beglückt uns mit sommerlichen Farben wie ein mit pink angehauchtes Rot, Türkis, gelbliches Grün, Grautönen und einem nicht-ganz-so-weißem Weiß. Hm, das könnten glatt DIE Farben für unseren nächsten Sommerurlaub werden!
Für das erste LO habe ich gerade mal zwei Sheets benutzt: Bo Bunny – Alora – Stitches für den Hintergrund und Bo Bunny – Alora – Giggles für die scalloped border und die süßen Blumen, Swirls und Vögel, die ich ausgeschnitten habe. Das ging alles ziemlich flott und fertig war das Layout!

Die zweite Seite hat den etwas längeren Titel “Pulmonaria Angustifolia”. Ihr habt bestimmt schon festgestellt, dass ich gerne auch mal Pflanzen oder Blumen fotographiere und dann den botanischen Namen als Titel benutze.
Dieses LO allerdings hat noch ein wenig mehr Entstehungsgeschichte:
Gestern Vormittag/Mittag traf ich mich mit Carole und Emma auf FB und wir quatschten während jeder von uns an einem Layout arbeitete. Ein Online-Crop! Das hat echt Spaß gemacht (besonders auch das Chatten) und nachdem ich fast fertig mit meiner Seite war, wusste ich nicht, was ich da eigentlich für eine Pflanze vor mir hatte. Hmpf. Carole aber half mir auf die Sprünge, so dass ich am Abend die Buchstaben aufkleben konnte! Danke nochmal dafür, liebe Carole!
Anfangs war ich etwas unsicher wegen den lila Blümsche, aber mit BoBunny’s “Ambrosia” gings ganz gut, denn das war nicht so ein scharfes lila, eher so eines ins Pink gehende. Auch hier habe ich nur zwei Papiere verwendet, nämlich Bo Bunny – Ambrosia – Roses als Hintergrund und Bo Bunny – Ambrosia – Stripe für die gelbe Border und die gestreiften Flags. Auf dem Kraft Cardstock kam Mister Huey’s White Mist und Acrylic Paint zum Einsatz.

Sind die Papiere von “Miss Caroline” nicht ein Traum? Da hat My Mind’s Eye wieder was tolles vorgelegt, nicht wahr? Ich liebe diese Farben, Schmetterlinge, Muster, Sticker….die passen so toll zueinander!

Die neuen Papiere von Teresa Collins “Everyday Moments” sind im Shop der Scrapbook Werkstatt erhältlich und wenn man die richtigen Fotos dafür hat, sind sie genial! Ein paar ältere SW-Aufnahmen von Amrum fielen mir neulich in die Hände und endlich konnte ich sie verscrappen! Die “Die Cut Sheets” sind genial und ich habe gleich mal drei auf meinem LO untergebracht! Dann noch ein wenig Bling dazu mit Rhinestones und Glossy Accents und fertig!

Tatsache ist, ich habe viele (sehr, sehr viele) Knöpfe… und wie man hier in diesem Sneak schon unschwer erkennen kann, habe ich auch überhaupt kein Problem, sie auf meinen LOs zu verwenden! Je mehr desto besser, denn sonst sieht sie ja keiner, wenn ich sie weiterhin in meinen Boxen verkommen lasse
Und jetzt kommt der spannende Teil: Letzte Woche wurde ich von Anna gefragt, ob ich dem Designteam des Blogs The Studio Challenge beitreten möchte! Da ich von Zeit zu Zeit die Herausforderung liebe, überlegte ich nicht lange und sagte zu, für die kommenden sechs Monate mitzumischen! Die erste Challenge, an der ich mitwirke started am kommenden Sonntag, 19. Februar. Gerne dürft ihr euch beteiligen, denn es gibt jede Menge großartige Sponsoren – und natürlich noch mehr Inspriation für euch!
Und bereits jetzt kann ich sagen, dass ich sehr glücklich darüber bin, Teil dieser Gruppe von kreativen Mädels anzugehören!

I will continue scrapping the pictures of our civil marriage in 2004 – just to warn you As we don’t have much “actual” pictures at the moment I’m happy using those.

The coming week is going to be a very busy week so you might not read much from me here. It’s half term in the UK and as we are a holiday club we provide our service from eight to six each day, Monday to Friday. Phew! I’m not in the whole day but eight hours each day – which is a bit of a change to my normal three hours I do normally… But I just think of the extra money I can spend on the new CHA goodies which start arriving already – even here on the island and on the European continent! Really happy about that! So I guess those great American retailers are finally aware of us scrappers on the other side of the globe….

Mögt ihr den Strand?! Ich schon. Aber es muss nicht zwingendermaßen der heiße Sommerstrand sein, es darf auch gerne mal der verschneite Wintertag sein, an dem man am Strand “nur” entlang läuft.
Aber, zurück zu meinem Layout, die Photos hier sind vom Sommer 2004, aufgenommen auf der Insel Amrum in Nordfriesland. Ach, ich liebe diese Insel einfach…
Hier auf den Photos sind wir gerade auf dem Weg zum Wasser, was auf Amrum mit seinem seeehr breiten Sandstrand manchmal gar nicht so einfach ist! Aber die Füße müssen einfach mindestens einmal umspült werden, nicht wahr?
Ich habe hier wieder Echo Park Paper “A Boy’s Life” verwendet – diese Blautöne sind einfach perfect für die Stimmung auf den Photos! Love it!
Und das nur zur Info: Ich hab immer noch einen riesen Stapel von Photos von unserer Standesamtlichen Hochzeit von 2004 – da gibts die nächsten Wochen also einiges zu sehen
In der kommenden Woche allerdings wird es wahrscheinlich nicht sehr viel von mir zu sehen/lesen geben, denn es ist Half Term hier in England, und da wir auch ein Holiday Club sind haben wir dir Kids von acht Uhr Morgends bis sechs Uhr Abends im Centre. Ich selbst bin zwar nur acht Stunden am Tag dort, aber auch das ist schon ein Umstellung von meinen üblichen drei Stunden täglich! Am Ende aber bin ich froh um das zusätzliche Geld, das ich aufs Sparkonto ziehen kann (um ein paar Neuigkeiten von der aktuellen CHA zu kaufen – oder für meine DSLR!).

Als Tobias und ich im Sommer 2004 geheiratet haben, luden wir nur ein paar Verwandte mit auf die Insel Amrum ein. Aber meine beste Freundin und ihr Mann überraschte uns mit deren Anwesendheit! Let’s start with the photos of my hairstyle: I really was pleased with the  look and that it lasts the whole day and evening! In the beginning we had difficulties finding the right hairdresser; one was too busy, the other one too expensive, but the third one was perfect! I booked an appointment and they charged a reasonable price! Just to let you know: our wedding took place on the island Amrum in the North Sea. So we hadn’t much choice!

And now – have a look at the paper. Ah yes – you are right! It IS Echo Park Paper and it IS “A Boy’s Life”! Who would have thought it would fit to a wedding themed layout?! Ok, you CAN use boyish paper with girls on it, but weddings?! But it worked, right?!
I got one more…. will show you this one later this week!

Vor ein paar Tagen stolperte ich beim Aufräumen über einen großen Stapel alter Fotos von unsere standesamtlichen Hochzeit in 2004. Da ich ja damals bereits ein Album damit erstellt habe (sehr “deutsch” das ganze!) hätte ich fast die ganzen übrigen Erinnerungen entsorgt. Aber als ich das ein oder andere Foto sah, wusste ich, was dem ersten Album fehlte: die Geschichte hinter den Fotos! Ganz klar. Und wenn ich das jetzt nicht anfange, festzuhalten, dann hab ich das irgendwann vergessen! Also los!
Das erste Layout handelt von meiner Frisur! Wir haben auf Amrum geheiratet und wer diese schöne, gemütliche Insel in der Nordsee kennt, weiß, dass es dort nicht sooo viel Auswahl an Friseuren gibt! Einer hatte keinen Termin mehr frei, der andere war sehr teuer, aber wir haben beim dritten Glück gehabt! Der Preis war angemessen und einen Termin hatten sie auch noch!
So, und nun werft doch mal einen genaueren Blick auf das Papier, das ich verwendet habe. Ja, es IST Echo Park Paper und es IST “A Boy’s Life”! Wer hätte das gedacht, dass dieses Papier zu einem Hochzeits-Layout-Thema passt?!
Ich hab noch mehr gemacht, die zeige ich euch aber erst später!

For February I have the honor to show you more of Echo Park Paper’s “A Boy’s Life” (and there will be an unexpected twist in the use of that collection – later that week!). Great bold colours! Lots of blues in every shade, bright red, warm yellow! Love it! The bunting is still a hype and you see lots of different shapes in a row – I tried it with some heart and star punches this time! Very effective, don’t you think?

It’s always hard to use girly things on a boy’s layout so I just sewed on some buttons and that’s it! Some splatter and you’re done!
Looking forward to Wednesday! Have a good start into a (snowy) week!

Tobias kann ernsthaft sein. Wenn er will. Aber das ist dann doch eher die Ausnahme. Auf unserem New Year’s Walk hat er sich benommen; die meiste Zeit. Und dann isses doch aus ihm heraus gekommen und er musste Quatsch machen und so tun als ob er die Frucht vom Weißdorn auffuttert… Männer! Aber darum lieben wir sie, richtig?
Im Februar habe ich die tolle Aufgabe, euch Echo Park Paper’s “A Boy’s Life” näher zu bringen. Es wird noch eine unerwartete Wendung im Gebrauch dieser doch recht jungenhaften Collection geben, davon aber mehr im Laufe der Woche.
Im großen und ganzen kann ich sagen: Starke Farben! Viele Blautöne, sattes Rot, warmes Gelb. Herrlich, oder? Das muss man doch einfach mal mögen!
Bunting/Banner sind immer noch total angesagt und momentan erscheinen sie sogar in unterschiedlichen Formen – das hab ich doch glatt mal nachgemacht und diesmal auch ein paar Herzen und Sterne ausgestanzt! Ganz schön effective wie ich finde, stimmts!? Und damits nicht zu mädchenhaft wird hab ich nach den Knöpfen aufgehört mit den Embellishments. Nur noch ein paar Spritzer Farbe und gut wars!
In diesem Sinne, freut euch auf Mittwoch und ich wünsche euch nen guten Start in die neue Woche!
