Shopping Paradise – Frosty Festivities 2015 Blog Hop

A very warm welcome to my lovely crafty friends! It is mid of November 2015 and I haven’t been around regularly; but there are certain important dates in the year to take part in – and Jennifer Grace’s annual Frosty Festivities Blog Hop is an important part in the run up to Christmas. This year she spread out her crafty ideas over the whole of November. So make sure you visit her blog HERE to look back on her posts she has done so far (and the ones to come!).

You should have come from Clare B to Scrapbooking Insanity, where I blog my scrapbooking layouts (mostly) and my Christmas Journal during December and January.

Today my layout is a real piece of scrapped paper! Through the years I have gathered a lot of paper scraps from different companies. My Christmas collections are all kept separately. So when I went through them to find some coordinating colours which would go with my instagram photo, I experienced some flashbacks of times when I used these specific patterned papers.

The papers and embellishments are two to four years old, but still absolutely lovely! I added some old an (very) new Washi-Tapes, golden, wooden and red stars and of course the ultimate golden sprinkles.

As for the title, I had to be creative. These formerly white enamel alpha letters wouldn’t be visible on the layout (actually a good idea, might have to try it next time and keep the layout really light in colour!), so I used my Copics to add the red colour. Still, there wasn’t an “S” left. My options were these: either find a similar letter from a different alpha set, or use a letter which stands out from all the others. As I couldn’t find anything similar, it had to be something special. I was lucky and found the letter S within October Afternoons Christmas paper collection from two or three years ago. So I cut it out, mounted it on some foam pads and used golden Stickles  to outline it. What an eye catcher, right?

Try it yourself – make a real eye catcher as part of your title – it doesn’t have to be complicated!

  1. Oh, what an awesome LO!!!! Oh, my goodness….I love all the many varied elements on this piece….including some that I always seem to have trouble using. Great to see how wonderful they look all together in a cohesive group. Fabulous idea for that missing S….and so creatively altered to work with your other letters. Thanks for sharing!
